Instructions
1. Microwave the steamed rice roll package (do not remove the package bag) for 3 minutes to help soften the rolls. If the rice cakes are not as fresh, you might have to microwave longer. Allow to cool down for a bit before peeling. 2. Prep all your toppings. Julienne your cucumber, pork ham, and Thai basil. 3. Start peeling the rice sheets layer by layer and tear them lengthwise so they are bite size. 4. To assemble your bowl, add the torn rice sheets. Then layer on the pork ham, steamed beansprouts, cucumbers, and Thai basil. 5. Top with fried shallots, sambal (if you like spice), and pour on the Vietnamese sweet fish sauce (amount is based on preference). 6. Combine well and enjoy - this is a solid, flavorful dish!View original recipe
